The maker of this soap Colly Burke comes from a line of ancestors who were always into the use of the products of nature. His paternal grandmother Marina Cheese was a firm believer in the use of herbs and healthy eating habits. After migrating to the United States from the parish of St. Catherine in the sunny isle of Jamaica, he retruned to spend some time with relatives in Berkshire Hall the place of his birth.

While there he spent a lot of time talking with his Aunt Bernice Chin who possesses extensive knowledge of herbs and their healing powers. She and Colly would experiment with several herbs, fruits and vegetables to see how they could be used to make different products. On returning to the USA he continued his experiments and developed the Hand and Foot Soap.

When his wife Sharon was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes five years ago and who had problems with the harsh chemicals used during her manicure and pedicure he made the soap for her use, discovered that it worked and after testing on several relatives and firends and getting positive feedbacks decided to market it.

The name Carib Isle was chosen because of his Caribbean background and that was where the seed for this soap was planted. The fruits used in the manufacture of this item are also products from the Caribbean Islands.
